It’s tragic when the passion for creating something beautiful is completely lost. All of us “don’t test”, but that’s a lie. We do. It’s always in very small doses, and with those we believe can bring out the best in us as artists, and raise us to a caliber we have not yet achieved.

Agreed completely! This is why I always ask the model, “Do you have any concepts or ideas in mind you would like to shoot”. And I go from there. If they can’t think of anything, then I mention some ideas I have and we build upon them. For me the most fun part of doing collaborative shoots is being able to take ideas from BOTH parties and turning it into something awesome that makes BOTH people happy. :) I strive to make sure that models enjoy shooting with me.. and it’s too bad to hear that not all photographers take these things into consideration!
